I had the pleasure of seeing Imants Tillers exhibition 'Value Added Landscapes' at Jan Manton Art Gallery, 59 Melbourne St South Brisbane. Australian born Tillers, of Latvian parentage, layers his images & appropriates from other well known artists. His use of canvas covered boards & the assembly of these into a 'whole' covering large wall areas is reminiscent of patchwork design ideas. His surfaces are seductive with layers of pearlescent paint, text, images & religious meaning.
