Pinkham Millinery was beautiful with many old hat blocks arranged behind the counter. What a treat to have owner Dayna share her passion for hats with us and give us many insights into how we could be wearing hats.

Conference

Some of the fabric fun on opening/ice breaker night. We used glue sticks and were guided by Lyric Kinard in several exercises, passing our pieces on and adding to others. We made a creative mess!

My leaf postcard amongst others from the Oceania region. The postcards were admired and commented on by attendees.

I was invited to be on an international panel chaired by Rosalie Dace, discussing Dancing on the Tightrope, a discussion on art quilts around the world. Portland

We have been enjoying Portland and have tried to see some of the special landmarks even though I have been very busy at the SAQA [Studio Art Quilt Associates] conference. We are impressed by the tree lined streets and relaxed feel. Of course Powell's book store, the biggest in the World! was part of our itinerary. Library? book store + good coffee= smiles.

You need a guide map to get around the floors and the bonus is the art work on the back.
