Colours of the Season

Red & green are the colours of the Christmas Season in Australia where we don't have snow but hot sunny days for the month of December. This red Kangaroo Paw plant & the fire hydrant are in the colours of the season.

Thank you

Thank you to the buyer of 'Goddess Relics' which was donated to the Bid 4A Cause auction with all money going to breast cancer research. More than $2,000 has been raised. And pink is such a great colour too!

Useful Yazzii

For a few years now, I have been using a zip lock plastic bag to carry my sewing bits & pieces, which I use for demonstrating, to workshops. Recently I bought a snazzi Yazzii.

This is the petite mini organiser with 6 zippered see-through compartments. Colour choice was so easy!

Same but different

Many artists are inspired by Nature, whether we paint it, arrange it in a vase or quilt it etc. Leaves hold a fascination for me because of their beautiful shapes & the story they tell about their sense of place. The Eucalyptus  family has many members & often there is a difference of shape & colour depending on the region. Height definately varies with climate conditions.
Top left is a photo of gum blossom from my local area while the other photos are from Canberra. Of course many species are grown all over Australia & overseas. We saw very well established gums growing in Sardinia, Italy when we lived there.

In from the cold

June thanks for your comment regarding my canvas. Photos of the party & more canvases will be posted on the 2QAQ blog during the coming week. We all had a wonderful ARTrageous party in the Gallery, the air conditioning barely coping with the heat & humidity of the day, in stark contrast to the snowy conditions in Siberia. Bob, in my orange hat, is back with some great photos of the harsh wintery conditions endured by the people living there. L-R Vladimir, Bob, Fyodor Aleksandovich.

ARTrageous party at Gallery 159

Consider yourself invited to the Creative Canvas Exhibition & ARTrageous Christmas party at Gallery 159 today. We kick off at 12 noon with an opening of the exhibition by Janet de Boer OAM followed by food, drink & merriment.
The canvases are by members of 2QAQ [Queensland Quilters Art Quilts] & will be on display from 11am-4pm this weekend only at the gallery, located at 159 Payne Rd The Gap, Brisbane. 'Drift' is my contribution to the exhibition.
