Wattle

I have been working on 3 quilts inspired by the wattles we have. Did you know we celebrate National Wattle Day on September 1. Above are hand dyed backgrounds with wattle prints from 2 species.

I also needed a wattle fringe, so had fun sewing these 'wattle balls' to another quilt. The commercial wattle print is from an old fabric range by the late Ruth Stoneley.

    I also had some of that fabric and still have some 'wattle balls' - just love the fringing - how clever.
