After 3 days visiting amazing, ancient temples and fighting the tourist hordes, we decided to have a change of pace with a sunset dinner on Tonle Sap, the large freshwater lake near Siem Reap, which is home to floating villages of Cambodian and Vietnamese.
These boats are typical of ones transporting tourists. Smaller ones are used as water taxis by local people. If you are familiar with the long tail boats of Thailand, these are much the same.
Life is lived on the water in house boats. This is the Dry Season and the water level is down but when the rains come it will rise by many metres. Villages more around the lake shore line.

Community Floating Market.
And this is what we had come for!
Stunning sunset. Can I see a quilt in the making?
