'Windows on Australia: The Quilts of Sue Dennis'

I have spread out the quilts, for a sneak peek, that will be the small exhibition 'Windows on Australia'   showcasing some of my work from 2000- 2008, at the Pacific International Quilt Festival in Santa Clara October 14-17. My lecture on Thursday October 14 , Outback Travels with my Sewing Machine, will also give an insight into the Australian landscape & the work it has inspired, so I hope you can join me.
Jeri, thanks for noticing my sequined vest in the post from Monday- it's a good outfit for openings!

I didn't get 100 candles on the cake but set them out as the number 100.

2QAQ meeting

Last Saturday was a meeting day for 2QAQ [Queensland Quilters Art Quilts] & we had a demonstration day with 5 talented members, each showing a different technique. Jan with her samples using flour paste resist.
Felicity, below on the R, is very talented in using an embellisher to make sculptural work.
Susan, on R,  of Essential Textile Art demonstrated paper clay & had lots of great products for sale.
Mel had lots of examples of image transfer techniques, which she uses in her work. I was busy with oil paint stick demonstrations & this is one of the workshops I'm teaching at the Pacific International Quilt Festival in October.

A talented friend who has just begun blogging is Mel & you'll find her at mels artistic journey .  You may also like to read of the adventures of Alison & Lorraine as they travel the USA on their holiday at quilting & trains.
Just so I can keep up with developments I have them both on my blog roll- happy reading!

Flowers

This lovely arrangement of native flowers & foliage was on the table when we had morning tea at the Samford Quilt Show. As it is the first official day of Spring, in Australia today, I thought it appropriate.
