Mongolian hospitality at it's finest- when we were invited in & a meal prepared for us. The TV in the background is powered from a solar cell. We are drinking milk tea, which has a salty taste.
Milk tea, fired yoghurt, which becomes solid but crumbles easily when eaten, another yoghurt sweet & a deep fried pastry which keeps for days. This was followed by freshly made noodles in a soup with fried or dried? mutton.
All made on this little stove! The lady of the ger also had time for embroidery to decorate the walls & a hand cranked sewing machine sat in a box on a cupboard.
An outside log cabin had the gaps patched with yak dung. Nothing goes to waste on the steppe.
The ice lake was a first for me Jan & Ali, as have been so many experiences in this fascinating country.

Love the way the ger is decorated with painted designs and embroideries - it seems very homely and cosy - certainly a different way of life to ours. The food looks interesting - I guess they also eat a lot of goat meat.
