Alison, I was able to print, here in the Santa Fe hotel room & rub as I travelled, so it gave me great souvenir fabrics & instant colour in the AiR studio.
I'm also playing with commercial prints & have a changing design wall as ideas unfold. Below, "Day of the Dead' [Fiesta de los Muertos] first seen in Disneyland & celebrated on November 1, just as All Saints Day is in Italy.
I'm in love with the vibrant colour & joy this seems to encapsulate.
Hi Sue! This is my first chance to check out your blog since Houston. I love the double track and will enjoy seeing how you progress in your studio space.
ReplyDeleteDia de los Muertos is my favorite holiday - I grew up celebrating it in Southern California, and still build an altar every year. One of these days I'm going to try making sugar skulls!
ReplyDeleteI'm so enjoying following your travels - I went to college in St. Louis and traversed that area at least a half dozen times in those years - it's still beautiful!
Totally enjoying following your adventures. Memories are brought back with your reference to Dia de los Muertos, I had never heard of or experienced anything like Dia de los Muertos until the year I spent in Mexico where the atmosphere is amazing and so colorful, especially during that period.
