Bob had work in Istanbul, Turkey and I needed to renew my Mongolian visa so we flew out of a very cold, snowy Ulaanbaatar with Turkish Airlines.
A pristine, snow covered landscape was spread out under our wings.
We had one stopover at Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan which was wasn't as snowy. The main souvenirs at the airport were yurts, felt hats, felt items and alcoholic drinks unknown to us.
And fridge magnets.
With the last remains of daylight we circled Istanbul and eventually landed. This was our first visit to the city where Asia and Europe meet.
