More quilts from Istanbul

Secretary of the Association, Ulku Sogut with her blue quilt, From the Sea  made for the 2015 20th anniversary celebrations. The exhibition was held at the Maritime Museum. Istanbul is surrounded by various bodies of water and large and small seagulls fly overhead and roost in city locations.
Emina Toprak collected me from my hotel in the morning. Here she is working on a pieced table runner, while Ayse Sari free motion quilts in the background. Known for her quilting skills, Ayse quilts large and small quilts on the domestic Bernina 130.
Harika Irkilata holds a completed table runner. Many of the items stitched on Wednesday meeting days are made for the Association to sell to raise funds for the upkeep of the club facilities.
Lunch was delicious with a savoury homemade wheat dish followed by stewed quince and thick double cooked cream.
Turkish coffee and sweets plus birthday cake from a member, to round out the day!
Thanks for a super day quilters, your generous hospitality was much appreciated!
