Istanbul quilts

The Textile Arts Association's  first floor room was warm and inviting with this block on the window pane looking lovely with the light shining through and highlighting the seams.
This is the room before all the activity got underway.
We started with morning tea and homemade biscuits. I felt at home!
Members had pieced this raffle quilt and the binding was being completed by various members. Ozden Kaymukcalan is working on it in the photo below.
I loved the colour play and shading across this large double wedding ring quilt by Canam Yalin.
Elcin Erktin, Association President and also one of the founders is delightful to talk to. She has visited Australia on her travels.
Nese Kinay kindly arranged my wonderful visit with this group of friendly, talented ladies. She gave me a valuable insight into the group's activities.  We are standing in front of a group quilt. Members like to create one each year. More photos tomorrow.

  1. Looking at the photo Sue, you could have been anywhere in the world - quilting is such a getting together of like minded people. Such lovely quilts.
