Am I the last person to have discovered The Clan of the Cave Bear and the Earth Children series by Jean M Auel? I have enjoyed listening to the first 2 in the series courtesy of the Brisbane City Council Library.

A good book

This book 'twelve by twelve' has kept me company during my morning coffee breaks. I have so enjoyed getting to know each artist better through the book and having time to spend contemplating the work they made for each challenge. I wish I could see the exhibition again, as it would be nice to revisit pieces that didn't catch my eye on first viewing. Published by Lark Crafts and widely available. Brenda Gael Smith may still have copies for sale.

Vidcast with Bonnie

In New Zealand at the Remarkable Symposium, earlier this year, I had the pleasure of meeting Bonnie McCaffery above R, an American quilter who has pioneered a number of great techniques & written books about them. Bonnie is also well known for her Vidcasts which she records around the world. I was nervous but thrilled that Bonnie asked me to record one with her. Now it's out & you can see it here.

"One for the Road"

This is the book by Janelle McCulloch, an Australian author/ journalist who specialises in design, architecture, travel & style. It took me to new places in the United States, [some I don't wish to visit now] in a delightful light hearted, succinct observational writing style which made me keep reading late into the night & chuckling out loud in dentist waiting rooms.

I'm doing some reading research for my trip to the US next October. Can you recommend any books on the South West, the desert regions or Native American culture?
