Divide & Conquer workshop- Queenstown

Each day the Remarkables greeted us with an amazing vista, so I'll share as many as I can, with you. A small group of enthusiastic students in Divide & Conquer, 2 day workshop, made small wall quilts of their designs.

New Zealand Symposium

It's been a long time in planning, but next month the Remarkables Symposium is taking place in Queenstown, New Zealand on the South Island. Are you joining me in 1 of the 3 workshops I have on offer? Remarkable Symposium

The Remarkable Symposium class catalogue arrived last week, full of tutor profiles & workshop descriptions. What a hard job selecting classes to attending from the great line-up! The Remarkable Mountains in the background are snow capped & a beautiful backdrop to Queenstown. Hope to see you there. My workshops are Opal Fever, Leaf it Alone & Divide & Conquer on page 40.

Student work #2

"A pinch & a punch for the first of the month" is a ritual we have in this household, so with Bob in Beijing I had to e-mail to 'get' him.

Jill, who was in the Mono-Printing Magic workshop at AQC this year, was also a former student from 2008 & e-mailed images of her completed work 'Tribal Sticks' worked on in the Divide & Conquer workshop.

Jackquelynn's quilt

Thanks for sending a photo of your finished quilt Jackquelynn [student in Divide & Conquer NY] & congratulations on completing the quilt & adding the extra texture & interest that the quilting gives it.

Jackquelynn's quilt is on display at the Christ Church Riverdale's Art Show, New York & she says it is her first art quilt.

Divide & Conquer Manhattan!

I have the best job! Today is actually May 10 in the USA but my laptop is set to Australian time so these posts are coming out dated a day ahead of when I'm actually posting them. I spent my Mothers Day with a group of 10 quilters teaching the Divide & Conquer workshop.
Now I can't tell you all our secrets but look at the wonderful diverse designs produced in 1 day by these keen students.
