Yes Jan the yo yo scarf was expensive & mostly cotton fabric. I have seen the silk yo yo vests that are made overseas & many years ago a student of mine in Mt Isa brought in an old quilt of yo yos. They seem to go in waves of popularity & are now appearing on contemporary dresses. Interesting how textile techniques & traditions are picked up by fashion designers & given a modern twist. I don't want to be rash & commit to making any but.....The catalogue above arrived recently & is from the Taiwan International Quilt Exhibition held in April in Taiwan. The first printing sold out very quickly & the second edition contains more images from the exhibition & the visitors. It is 255 pages in Chinese & English & just a beautiful production. I am the only Australian represented & sent 3 quilts from the foliage series which you can see on my website. It is satisfying & humbling to be part of such events.
