Sometimes the GPS navigation systems we are using via the I-phone, tell use to take the most unlikely looking roads or turns! We found ourselves joining the major autostrada to Ravenna via a very, very small unpaved country road outside Urbino, where we had spent the night.
It started out quite well, then deteriorated in places where the rain the previous night had washed away parts of it. Being good Italian style drivers we ignored the road closed signs and pressed ahead.
The views were nice and the Italian northern area is much more hilly than we have been used to in the south.
