The little things

It's often the little details that might go unnoticed that interest me as well as texture of course, which is prime rubbing material. Here my Ipad shadow is seen on the stones, set into a circle, outside an old church.
Crumbling outer walls and an iron candle or light holder set high up.
Unity of material and variety working together.
In old buildings the Italian windows are quite small and often have interesting curtains of linen and lace.
Lots of interesting door knockers everywhere.
Electrical wires here.

  1. Welcome home and love the textural qualities of the stones. Can't wait to see your rubbings. It has been a real joy to journey with you both these past weeks.
