Mongolian quilting #3

I can't imagine sewing using a hand wheel & trying to match up my seams for piecing with only 1 free hand. But these skilled quilters do just that on the mostly hand cranked machines in the work room at the Mongolian Quilting Centre. Yes, there are a couple of electric machines too.
The Mongolian 'olzii' symbol for eternity is a popular motif. The 'olzii' is attributed to shepards tying knotted rope to keep their flocks together at night.

If you would like more information about the centre or would like to help in any way, please contact Selenge via e-mail.
