Taiwan International Quilt Exhibition 2012 opens in Tainan City. 292 quilts from 22 countries are on display until September 9. I will be heading off next Tuesday for Taiwan as I'm one of the 5 speakers at the International Seminar on Saturday August 18.
The theme for the exhibition is Moving Water and Rivers. My friends Pat Gould and Mary Pal will also be presenters.
The 3 pieces I made relate to the January 2011 floods of Brisbane.
Flood #1 River Rising
Flood #2 Under Leaden Skies
Flood #3 Flotsam
All these quilts use mono prints in the central sections. I designed and stitched them in January, so it will be nice to be reacquainted with them.
