Seoul textiles

The Sookmyung Women's University has 2 museum areas with beautiful exhibits.
This is a detail from a silk embroidered screen named Unification by Young Yang Chung 1967 and that represents a unified Korea. The Rose of Sharon is the Korean national flower. These photos are of exhibits behind glass, so a little bit of reflection. The pink flowers are the north and white flowers the south with the large tree trunk symbolising the artist's wish for a unified Korea.

I saw many examples of exquisite hand work, traditional techniques & old pieces.
