Yesterday I drove south to the Gold Coast to be a co-judge with Helen Goddenfor the Gold Coast Quilters Vicki Pignatelli Challenge. Congratulations to the prize winners, but as in all challenges consider yourself a winner for just entering. Entering requires thought, time & commitment to bring your ideas to life. At Show & Tell, Cathy Davies Lof The Quilting Studio ph 07 55306730, had this quilt which was also part of another challenge- to use 3 different blocks & put them together in new ways.
Hi Sue - what was the "Vicki Pignatelli Challenge"? Is it normal to bring in judges for that kind of thing? I met Vikki this year outside of Columbus Ohio and she's really a great lady.
Hi Nina-Marie The challenge was a locally issued challenge to those students who had participated in a Vicki Pignatelli workshop in Australia. 11 entries were received & had to show the techniques taught but in their own design- not made during the workshop. Hope this helps explain it. cheers, Sue
Travel is an exciting & large part of my life, combined with creating fabric, stitching art quilts & enjoying textile traditions around the world.
I work in the quilting industry; exhibit, judge, curate, tutor & write.
These are some of the threads of my life.
