Living in a ger

This plain door has the word 'guest' in Mongolian on it, & this ger or yurt was our home for a few days in Khovsgol Province, Northern Mongolia. I was tagging along with Bob while he worked & falling in love with this country. A ger is round, without windows, but has a round skylight which can be covered over if needed. A wooden lattice supports the felt layers of the wall & roof slats hold the felt roof. This is then covered with cloth & tied down securely. Inside vinyl flooring is used & the interior wall also covered with cloth.
It was cosy inside with single beds around the wall, a central stove, work table, electricity & internet connection.
This is 1 of the 2 central beams supporting the skylight wheel.
The exploration camp's 'fireman' would light our stove early in the morning before we woke & as it got cold in the evening. With all the wood inside it is necessary to have an extinguisher for safely. The wall of the ger is short, perhaps 1.5-2 metres high. The sign reads 'Watch your head please'.
