Mongolian summer #2

While the greater part of the 2.5 million Mongolians live in the capital Ulaanbaatar, the heart & soul of Mongolia lives on in the sweeping vistas of the Steppe & the rural lifestyle. The Steppes are represented by 'Long' songs & the horse head fiddle, with only 2 strings made from the tail of a stallion.
Motorbikes are replacing horses & cars replace motorbikes. The road became multiple tracks across the landscape. The swinging green elephant, attached to the mirror, kept us company over the bumpy back roads which follow the telephone line.
