Fattura

From Sulmona we took a day trip to see some of the 3 National Parks and lakes in the region. Davide told us about the village of Fattura in the mountains that was destroyed by an earthquake during Winter in the early 1900's. The village was inhabited by women and children as it was customary for the men to take the sheep flocks south to Puglia for the Winter.
New Fattura has been build a short distance from here and while many buildings are still in ruins, some have been renovated. We didn't meet anyone when we stopped to walk around.
